Who We Are
We are carpenters, secretaries, teachers, business people, homemakers, computer technicians, factory workers, machinists, university professionals and students. We work and live in and around Iowa City. We are concerned for our children, juggle our finances and wonder about the future. In short, we are a lot like anyone you might meet in the area. But we have one distinguishing characteristic. We are a group whose lives have been profoundly affected by a living relationship with Jesus Christ.
As a church, we are nondenominational, but individually, we come from varied backgrounds - Protestant, Catholic and unchurched. We share a fervent desire to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord, which brings us together as a worshipping community.
Living Word Christian Fellowship is led by a team of pastors called of God to provide loving oversight to the people and ministries of the church. We are affiliated with Ministers' Fellowship International of Portland, Oregon. MFI is structured to provide guidance, counsel, training and fellowship for pastors and church leaders. These churches and church leaders come from around the United States and other nations and are joined by similar values and vision.
